Disaster Relief

Flood Response Efforts

The flooding over the July 4th weekend brought widespread devastation to our region, and we mourn alongside our neighbors over the loss of life, home, and property. As a church, we want to respond in this time of need, both through our tangible service and through financial support.
Serving Opportunities:
  • Through the coordinated efforts of Austin Disaster Relief Network, a well-respected Christian disaster relief organization, we will be leading a clean-up team this Saturday 7/12 from 8am-12pm. We will be sent to a location in the area based on need, which could potentially be anywhere within a couple of hours. I should have more details in the next day or two. Anyone is welcome to join (the more the merrier), but this will be physical work so be prepared to bring your gloves, tools, and sweat. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. You can sign up for that HERE.
  • Hope House in Liberty Hill, a forever home and sanctuary for children with profound disabilities, was evacuated because of the flooding and is now in need of volunteer help for debris clean-up. This is immediate and ongoing, as they want to return the kids they serve back to their homes as quickly as possible. You can check their Facebook page HERE for regular updates.
  • As needs arise in response to the flooding, more opportunities to serve may come over the next few weeks. If you want to stay in the loop on our tangible relief efforts for this and other community projects, signup HERE to join our Helping Hands volunteer list.
Financial Assistance/Donations:
  • Austin Disaster Relief Network is actively accepting direct donations and also has an Amazon wishlist of needs related to their relief efforts. You can find links to both HERE.
  • The Salvation Army is actively providing practical assistance to flood survivors and first responders in the Central Texas area, including 5 meal trucks distributing food in various affected communities. You can donate directly to their Texas Floods disaster relief efforts HERE.
  • Hope House is also asking for both direct donations and items from their Amazon wishlist. You can give directly HERE to help with increased staffing hours, repair costs, and essential care items for their residents. The link to their Amazon wishlist is HERE, with a particular need to replace lost iPads that are vital to the day-to-day communication of their kids.
  • Hill Country Community Ministries is accepting donations of the most needed items as well as monetary donations. To see a list of the items needed or to donate money visit their website HERE.
