Member Spotlight : Brent Berry

Ok, Y’all! We’ve got a GREAT spotlight today. As one of our long-time Journey members, please join us in saying hello and “thank you for all you do/have done for our Journey family” to Brent Berry! Get to know a little more about Brent today:

  • How long have you been coming to The Journey? Almost 19 years.
  • Where do you volunteer at The Journey? Early on Missy and I volunteered in Journey Kids. Today I’m part of the Welcome Team, I volunteer for FPNO, I’m involved in the Iron Men program, and will be a safety coordinator.
  • Where are you from? Most of my life I’ve lived in Texas, early childhood in Beaumont. My family moved to Farmington, NM where I spent 5th thru 9th grade, and then moved back to La Grange, TX where I graduated high school. We have been in the greater Austin area for the last 31 years.
  • Please tell us about your family: My wife is Missy Berry, and we’ve been married for 31 years. Our children are Bailee (27), Makenna (23), and Brooks (21).
  • Favorite Bible verse – Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • What are some of your hobbies? I love to golf and hunt and try to keep pace with my very active family.
  • Do you have any pets? Yes, we have two dogs. Both are goldendoodles. The boy is Sully, and the girl is Dixie, and we absolutely love them.
  • Favorite book? (besides the Bible!) Ken Follet’s the Century Trilogy.
  • Favorite football team? The Fightin’ Aggies of Texas A&M.
  • Share something fun happening in your life right now: Missy and I just recently moved into our new home in Georgetown. The build process took almost 2 years, which of course was a long and challenging process, but we love our new home and are blessed and thankful.

Thank you to Brent for joining us for a spotlight today! We’ve loved getting to know more about you and are so thankful to have you as part of our Journey family.
