We love our members! We are blessed to have another wonderful spotlight today.
After having joined our Journey family earlier this year, she has jumped right in to serving our 2nd & 3rd grade kids, has such a loving and humble heart, and is ready to greet you with a warm smile. Please say hi and get to know a little more about Becky Gonzalez today!
- How long have you been coming to The Journey? I began watching The Journey online during the Pandemic at the suggestion of my dear friend and neighbor, Liz Leonard. I came in person for the first time on Christmas Eve of last year and became a member in February of this year.
- Where do you serve at The Journey? I just started volunteering in the 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School class.
- Where are you from? I have lived in Texas all my life. I grew up in Karnes City, a town of about 3000, located 50 miles south of San Antonio. We have lived here for 30 years.
- Please tell us about your family: My husband, Oscar, and I have been married for 40 years. He just celebrated his 95th birthday in July. We have one daughter, Monica, who is married to Stephen, and they have our 18 month old granddaughter, Maren Mae.
- Favorite Bible verse: The verse I say every morning when I get up is Romans 12:12. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.”
- What are some of your hobbies? I enjoy doing all kinds of crafts, but about a year ago I started trying to teach myself watercolor painting by watching online tutorials. It has quickly become my favorite hobby.
- Do you have any pets? We have a six year old beagle/lab mix, Jackie, that we adopted as a puppy. She is a great dog and my best buddy.
- Favorite movie? My favorite movie is You’ve Got Mail.
- What movie always makes you laugh? My Cousin Vinny never fails to make me laugh.
- Share something fun happening in your life right now: Being a Nana to Maren Mae is as good as it gets! She is always so happy, and spending time with her is so much fun.
